Are you looking to host a bike to work seminar at your work place? How about a bike valet at you event? Please contact WABA to talk to us about the services we can provide. Our services include:
Valet Bike Parking is a great way to encourage people to leave their cars at home and ride their bikes to your event. The fee WABA charges to host a bike valet is based on numerous factors such as size of the event, duration of the event, and location of the event. For more information about WABA's Bike Valet service, visit our Bike Valet page or email events@waba.org.
WABA is ready with trained staff and mobile equipment (transported by bike) to install bike racks in public spaces within DC through a DDOT grant. Requests for racks within DC use this request form. All other request outside of DC or on private property should contact our Bike Parking Program Coordinator at bikeparking@waba.org.
WABA's kid's bike rodeos are designed to teach basic riding skills and to encourage cycling as part of a healthy and active lifestyle. WABA maintains a trailer equipped with over 30 bicycles, helmets and other equipment necessary to host a kids bike rodeo where you are. Contact education@waba.org for details and scheduling.
Designed to cover the basics of bicycle commuting and bike safety, WABA's Confident City Cycling classes are a great way to encourage people to try biking to work. These three hour classes cover such topics as Rules of the Road, Common Crashes, Lane Positioning and Basic Bike Maintenance. To discuss pricing and to schedule a class, please contact education@waba.org.
WABA's Brown Bag Commuter Seminars are basically short versions of our popular Confident City Cycling Classes. Designed to be taught over the course of a lunch hour, the basics of safe bicycle commuting and routing are covered. WABA literature such as our Safe Bicycling in the Washington Area, pocket bike law guides and area bike maps are available free. Please contact education@waba.org for more information.
In some cases, WABA can provide train the trainer seminars to teach others to educate children about safe walking and bicycling. Once trained, teachers, police officers, volunteers and others can help expand the reach of WABA's safety programs. Contact education@waba.org if you are interested.
