 Mandatory helmet laws aren’t the sole reason that Australia’s bikesharing systems have failed. But do helmets really save people? Do they, really? You can’t drive on trails. Bad things happen. New York might have an exceptionalism complex, but the anti-bike rhetoric that’s coming out of it isn’t limited to the East Coast. Prince George’s County is making it easier to develop land around Metro stations. Bikes aren’t the end of the world. If you don’t believe that, just ride one.
