Escort the Climate Riders Into D.C. on Wed., Sept. 25!

Last week, the Team WABA Climate Riders, led by our development coordinator Gina Arlotto, took off from Brooklyn toward D.C. Climate Riders pledge to raise money for nonprofits like WABA; Team WABA, whose members will donate 100 percent of their fundraising proceeds to our organization, met its goal of $50,000. Climate Riders are well underway and have so far traveled through New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Maryland. To show our appreciation for Team WABA and celebrate its completion of the Climate Ride, we’ll be welcoming the riders to D.C. tomorrow afternoon as part of a Climate Ride-wide organized escorting event. Team WABA will not only be completing the Climate Ride, it’ll be returning to its home city. Please join us to fete our riders, who’ve worked hard for several months to raise money to support WABA’s mission! There are several options for escorting in the Climate Ride:
  • Meet up with the Climate Riders between 1 and 2 p.m. on Ellsworth Drive in downtown Silver Spring and ride their route’s last 18 miles to the staging area at Thompson’s Boat Center
  • Meet at Thompson’s Boat Center at 3:15 p.m.
  • Rally around the Capitol at 4:15 p.m.
For more information on meeting up with the Climate Riders, see the Climate Ride website. WABA staffers are planning on escorting the ride, and we hope to see you there!
