Introducing KGP Design Studio, a WABA Business Member

We’ve recently introduced you to our business membership programWe debuted the program in 2012 and are steadily signing up new business members in 2014. As part of the program, we’d like to introduce you to some of our business members. Today, meet KGP Design Studio KGP Design Studio is a design firm based in DC that specializes in urban design, architecture and transit. You may recognize their work at the bikestation outside of Union Station. They also design structures around the United State and the world, with offices is Hawaii and the Philippines. They have designed bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure from DC and Baltimore to Pittsburgh all the way to the Netherlands.

Two of KGP’s principal designers, William Gallagher and Donald Paine, are long-time WABA supporters. Many of the employees at KGP ride to work as well.   In an interview with Greater Greater Washington Donald Paine talked about the firms commitment to building greener more bike friendly cities saying, “Smart growth isn’t just an economic thing. A walkable and bikeable city is a safer city. It’s a less congested city. It’s a more pleasant city. It’s a healthier city.” We are happy to count KGP Design Studio as a business member.
