Old Georgetown/MD 187 Bike & Pedestrian Safety Walk

Friday, September 9, 2022, 9:00 AM

Old Georgetown Road, MD

Meetup

Earlier this year, a teenager was hit and killed while riding his bike on the sidewalk along Old Georgetown Road (see article here). This was the second fatal crash involving a person biking on MD-187 in the past three years! We need to press for changes to make this road safe for those walking and biking.

On Friday September 9 at 9:00am join the community and State & local elected officials on walk-through with State Highway Administration staff. We will be meeting at North Bethesda Methodist Church, 10100 Old Georgetown Road (map) in the parking lot. We can show SHA that we are sick and tired of people who are biking and walking dying on our state highways because those roads are not safe!

Join us to tell SHA and our elected officials that we demand protected bike lanes and safer walking on Old Georgetown Road from MD-355/Rockville Pike in North Bethesda all the way to MD-410/East-West Highway in downtown Bethesda.

RSVP for the walk-through here.
