Bike to Work Day

Fri., May 16, 2014
Region-wide: 79 pitstops to choose from in D.C., Maryland, and Virginia

Join WABA, the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments, and over 10,000 of the region's bike commuters on Fri., May 16 for a celebration of biking to work. Sign up (for free!) to attend any of the 79 pit stops on your way to work. The first 14,000 people to register will get a free Bike to Work Day 2014 T-shirt at their pitstop.Register for Bike to Work Day today!

Tour de Fat

Tour de Fat is a wacky, fun, and free day-long festival presented by New Belgium Brewing. Kick off the day by joining WABA for a bike parade around the neighborhood (costumes and goofiness are highly encouraged). Spend the day enjoying New Belgium brews, rad live music, food trucks, crazy games, and more! All proceeds from the day benefit WABA and other local bicycle advocacy nonprofits. Volunteer for Tour de Fat!

TDF Blitz: Help us spread the word about Tour de Fat. The more attendees, the more money raised for local biking organizations. Stop by our office anytime on Mon., May 5 at any time to help with the blitz. For more information and to RSVP, see this page.

Paul's Ride for Life

Sat., April 26
Reston Town Center

Paul's Ride for Life honors Paul Rossmeissl, who was killed on the Washington & Old Dominion Trail in 2006. Paul's organ donations saved the lives of three others, and proceeds from Paul's Ride for Life benefit the Washington Regional Transplant Community. The ride begins at Reston Town Center and runs along the Washington & Old Dominion Trail. Ten-, 20-, and half-century-length routes are available. Ride to Conquer Cancer

Sept. 13-14
D.C. Region

The first annual Ride to Conquer Cancer will benefit the Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center, Sibley Memorial Hospital, and Suburban Hospital. All you need is motivation, a bike, and a helmet to make a difference. The ride is two days, 150 miles—and one epic ride. Register today with code WABA.
