Please join WABA for our next Washington DC bicycling advocates meetup, on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, 5:30–7 pm at Brightwood Bottle & Pizza/ANXO, 711 Kennedy St NW in (surprise!) Brightwood. This will be an informal social event. We’ll have appetizers for attendees, but it’s buy your own drinks. Come by any time, but please register so that we know you’re coming.
This will be the second of a series of 2025 events around the city. We’re hoping that Ward 4 Councilmember Janeese Lewis George or a member of her staff will be able to join us. Georgia Ave Revitalization efforts are a key topic, and given the Ward 4 location, let’s celebrate work completing the Metropolitan Branch Trail between Fort Totten and Takoma!
We’re tracking other Ward 4 projects including the planned Rock Creek Church Rd NW Bikeway (connecting to the Taylor Street NE and Fort Drive NE project in Ward 5) and protected bike lanes being planned for Kansas Road NW. And there are citywide topics to discuss including the difficult budget situation and FY26 budget priorities and the implications of the federal administration’s threats to DC Home Rule.
But the primary aim of this social meetup is to get together with other cyclists and talk about the joy of cycling!
We hope to see you on Tuesday, May 6 for WABA’s next bicycling advocates meetup, at Brightwood Bottle & Pizza/ANXO. Please register and let us know you plan to join us.
By registering for this event you agree to follow WABA's Code of Conduct.
