| Join us for a bike (or Metro) tour of trail-oriented development along the Metropolitan Branch Trail. |
| Join us to learn about how the Metropolitan Branch Trail (MBT) not only connects places along the route to Metro, NOMA, and other neighborhoods, but has also supported development. We’ll ride down the Metropolitan Branch Trail from Bryant St NE to Alethia Tanner Park, one mile south. At Tanner Park, we’ll learn about the trail and Metro-connected neighborhoods of Eckington and NOMA. Participants are welcome to borrow a Veo bike for the ride (free!) or can use metro to travel between stops on the tour. The trail tour will highlight how well-designed, well-connected trails can boost economic development and placemaking. A trail can be a great asset to the communities along it. It’s not just for recreation — which we love! — but also for creating new transportation connections and a distinct sense of identity through a community landmark. |
