Join us for another Hains Point Hoopla with a Halloween-twist to scream for protections for our beloved East Potomac Park.

We’re showing up to demonstrate our support for the park, to protect more trees from being cut, to call for accountability and transparency, and to show solidarity between all park visitors.

The future of Hains Point at East Potomac Park is still uncertain. After the government unceremoniously removed more than 500 trees, Judge Reyes called for a Temporary Restraining Order to prevent more tree cutting. There is another hearing scheduled for Monday, October 19th. We’ll be tracking any outcomes and we’ll share updates at the rally.

We’re holding the line: Hains Point should be for people! We need a future for the park (with trees!) that continues to support all visitors who enjoy the public space.

This event is led by WABA with support from Save East Po, and the DC Preservation League.
