This bike ride is geared towards educating trail users about invasive vines and how removing them can help to make navigating the trails a much safer experience. This event will double as a cleanup and invasive plant removal event with Chesapeake Climate Action Network as our main partner. This event will help to bring more awareness about the wet and woodlands that houses our off road multi use trails.
The bike ride starts off at 10:00am, bikers will meet up with the Trail Rangers at the Fields at RFK where the Trail Rangers will lead a eco-based ride along the river. This ride starts on the west bank of the Anacostia Riverwalk Trail to the east bank where we cross the pedestrian bridge then over to the Mosaic at the entrance of the Marvin Gaye Trail.
The non biking participants will be meeting us at this location at 11:30am. Here is where we hydrate, welcome everyone and give out instructions for the day. We will wrap up at 1:30pm and the Trail Rangers will escort the bikers back to RFK.
