This modified Road Riding Basics class teaches your family how to ride safely in a group setting. This class is in conjunction with the Bike Bus info session happening on August 19th, attendance at both is not required.

This class is for families with children ages 8 and up who already feel comfortable riding on trails.

Our League Cycling Instructors (LCIs) spend the first half covering important bike handling skills necessary while riding in traffic and cover group riding ettiquette. Participants learn skills such as the avoidance weave, quick stop, scanning and signalling, and discuss considerations for being a responsible road user.

The class ends with an on-street group ride, that will mimick a Bike Bus, where participants put their newly acquired skills to the test. Instructors will stop at different points to discuss how to approach different on-road scenarios and bike infrastructure. Have any questions? Email us at education@waba.org.
