FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

I don’t have a bike of my own, but I’d still like to enjoy the ride. Can I still participate?

If you already have a Capital Bikeshare membership, you can pick up a bike from a docking station at Congress Heights Metro Station or other nearby stations by using the Capital Bikeshare app. If you require other assistance to get access to Capital Bikeshare or have other questions about getting a bike for the ride, please email taahira.thompson@waba.org by July 24th.

I’m new to biking. Am I welcome to this ride?

This is not a learn to ride class. All participants should be comfortable biking for at least 4-miles. This is a low-stress ride that is open to everyone ages 12 (with a parent or guardian) and above. This bike route includes two very short segments on paved roadway, a couple road crossings, and the rest of the ride is a paved, separated trail.

What should I bring to this ride?

The only things you need for this ride are your bike, your helmet, a bottle of water, and a positive attitude! If you plan to attend the Trail Rangers’ summer block party at the James E. Bunn Amphitheater at the end consider bringing a bike lock!

How do I get there?

The ride will depart from the Congress Heights Metro Station, which serves the Green Line. WABA encourages you to choose public transportation or active mobility to get to the ride. If you choose to drive, there is free parking at the station on weekends.
