What is Capital Bikeshare?
The DMV’s bikesharing program, in partnership with the District Department of Transportation (DDOT), Arlington County, the City of Alexandria, Montgomery County, Fairfax County, Prince George’s County, and the City of Falls Church, is called Capital Bikeshare. Capital Bikeshare, or CaBi, allows you to borrow a bike at one of over 800 stations, leaving the bike at a station or other bike rack when you’re done.
The joy of riding a CaBi is the joy of riding a bike: feeling the wind in your hair, coasting down a hill, peddling to your music, sharing smiles and eye-rolls in the bike lane with other commuters. But CaBi comes with amazing bonuses: the ebike e-assist lets you get to your destination much quicker without breaking a sweat, and CaBi’s convenient and abundant stations around the region allow you the freedom to get from point A to B, point A to B to C, point A to B to C to D and so on without worrying about locking up your bike. In short, CaBi joins all the joys of biking with all the joys of public transit.
Start or renew your WABA membership today!
You can start or renew your membership with just a few clicks today at waba.org/join. When you join WABA at the Standard Member level, or at one of the higher levels, you become eligible for a code for an Annual Capital Bikeshare Membership! Just make sure you toggle the setting that says “Opt into membership benefits”. You can become a member by starting a monthly donation, or you can make a one-time donation to become a member for a year.
If you’re currently a Digital or Supporter level member, don’t worry! You can renew your membership at the Standard Level to get this benefit. If you already gave $60 or more, or have a recurring donation of $6/month or more, we can also convert your membership into the appropriate level, and then send you your code. Just email us at membership@waba.org, and we’ll make it happen!

Just send us an email at membership@waba.org requesting the code, and we’ll respond as soon as possible with your very own unique discount code, and instructions on how to redeem it.

Terms and Conditions
Capital Bikeshare/Lyft Terms and Conditions apply. Active Annual Capital Bikeshare memberships must expire before redeeming WABA member discount code. Family WABA Membership households may only receive one discount code per household for every $60 donated annually. Additional pricing may apply to Capital Bikeshare use beyond Annual Membership. Must be 16 years or older to register for Annual Capital Bikeshare Membership. Users under 18 years old require parents’ permission to register.
