Roll to the Polls Get Out the Vote(GOTV) Bike Ride

Saturday, June 11, 2022, 9:30 AM

2700 Connecticut Ave NW, Washington, DC 20008

Ride

WABA is collaborating with Ward 5 for All, Black Women Bike, Streets Calling, Saturday Night Bike Club and Ward 3 bikes to host “Roll to the Polls” Get-out-the-vote bike ride on June 11th!

During these rides, WABA will invite At-large, Ward 3 and 5 2022 primary candidates to speak to our participants. This is a major opportunity to get more face-time with candidates, highlight transportation issues this election season, and show the diversity of our movement.

We will meet at 9:30 a.m at the SW corner of Calvert St and Connecticut Ave NW near Woodley Park Metro station (we will be on the grassy hill next to the capital bikeshare station), we then will have an opportunity to hear from some of the candidates present and ask any questions you may have.

We will then ride to Turkey Thicket Rec Center (participants also have the option of taking Woodley Park Metro Station to Brookland Metro Station and walking 5 mins to Turkey Thicket Rec Center), where we will have an additional Q&A with the candidates present. We will wrap up at noon, and participants are invited to walk over to a nearby restaurant and have brunch with WABA staff.

The event will go on rain or shine! Bikers aren’t made of sugar, we won’t melt in the rain!
