Proteus Bikes

WABA and our friends at Proteus Bicycles in College Park invite you to join us for a Bicycling Advocates Meetup, on Sunday afternoon, April 30, 4 pm-6 pm.

If you’re a Prince George’s County resident, this event is for you – even if you haven’t been biking as much as you might like. This event is free and informal.

We’d love to hear from you. Come chat, meet other community members, and share recommendations for making our region safer and easier to get around. What do you enjoy about biking around the region? What improvements or changes would you like to see? Do you have feedback on how to promote biking, bikeways, and trails, or how to accelerate work that advances bicyclist and pedestrian safety?

Around 4:30 pm, we’ll hear a few words from elected officials (currently Councilmember Eric Olson, chair of the Transportation Committee, and Maryland state Senator Jim Rosapepe have confirmed they will attend) whom we’re inviting to join us. We’ll also highlight local efforts to improve and create new bike paths and also give anyone interested a chance to share what you’re up to – group rides, workshops, clubs, or other related opportunities.

But if you’re just looking for an opportunity to commune with other bicyclists, that’s cool too. Please come by at any point and stay for as much of the time as you wish.

So we can get a headcount and keep you updated, RSVP using the form above.

Questions? Please get in touch with Seth Grimes, Maryland Organizer. And we hope to see you April 30!
