ACT NOW to support Virginia’s first ever e-bike rebate program and school bike buses! These priority bills to increase access to bicycling will be heard in House Appropriations subcommittees starting THIS WEEK! Join us in urging legislators to support these critical bicycling bills!

The Virginia Bicycling Federation, a coalition of bicycling advocates and organizations across the Commonwealth including the Washington Area Bicyclist Association and Bike Walk RVA, is supporting an ambitious bicycling safety agenda during this year’s legislative session that began January 10th.

E-bikes have taken the world by storm, and Del. Josh Thomas’ HB 748 would increase equitable access to these car trip replacers. Del. Destiny LeVere Bolling’s HB 937 would ensure schools don’t lose transportation funding for encouraging lower cost active transportation alternatives like bike buses. These groundbreaking bills won’t pass without supporters like you speaking up in favor!

You will be prompted to send a pre-drafted but editable message to your legislator, customized based on whether they serve on the House Appropriations Committee or not. Send early, share widely!
