DC Family Bike Fest is DC Family Biking’s annual celebration of kids and families on wheels! This event brings together kid bikers, family bikers and folks who are bike-curious as well as local bike shops, groups, and orgs to build community and have fun together. Featuring Kids Bike Parade, Learn to Ride workshop, DC Library Storytime, gear swap, food trucks, prize giveaway and lots more – plus free tuneups and free sno cones!

Getting There

Alethia Tanner Park park is located off the Metropolitan Branch Trail at 227 Harry Thomas Way NE, Washington, DC 20002

Biking to the event? That’s awesome, and there’s plenty of bike parking available!

You can also join an organized group ride from a meeting point convenient to you:

  • Ward Five Family Bike – meet at Turkey Thicket at 10:30
  • Hyattsville Family Bike Ride – meet at Driskell Park at 9:30
  • Petworth Neighbors Ride – meet at Sherman Circle at 9:30
  • Arlington/Alexandria – meet at 9:10 at Crystal Drive/Mt. Vernon Trail or 9:25 at 14th Street Bridge
  • Dupont Circle neighborhood ride (led by WABA, sponsored by our friends at Veo!) – meet at 9:30 AM in the center of Dupont Circle
  • Capitol Hill neighborhood ride (led by WABA)- meet at 10 AM in the center of Lincoln Park

  • 12:00pm – Kids Bike Parade! led by WABA & the DC Bike Ambassador
  • 1:00pm – Learn To Ride workshop with Girls In Gear
  • 1:30pm – Storytime DC Public Library
  • 1:45pm – Giveaway prizes announced! (you don’t need to be present to win)
  • 2:00pm – official end time
