Families for Safe Streets in the DC Region

Families for Safe Streets was founded in 2014 by crash victims and their families in New York City. Chapters focus on advocacy for safer streets and peer support. Local Chapters have spread across the county. The DC region has five Chapters including NOVA (Alexandria, Arlington, and Fairfax), Washington, DC, and Montgomery County. In 2021, WABA began supporting a DMV Region Families for Safe Streets collaboration. The group meets quarterly to discuss regional issues and to plan events that harness people power throughout the region.
