Signal Membership FAQ

What is WABA?

The Washington Area Bicyclist Association (WABA) is a nonprofit bicycling and transportation advocacy organization. WABA empowers people to ride bikes, build connections and transform places, envisioning a just and sustainable transportation system where biking, walking, and transit are the best ways to get around.

WABA’s programs include youth and adult education, outreach programs that help people of all experience levels make biking part of their daily lives, and grassroots advocacy campaigns to make neighborhoods more bikeable, walkable, and welcoming to travelers who aren’t in cars. More than eight thousand dues-paying members from across the Washington, DC region have helped WABA transform bicycling in the region in its 50-year history.

What is a Signal Financial WABA Membership?

When customers start banking with Signal Financial, Signal covers their Digital WABA Membership dues for the first year. This decade-long partnership connects customers to Signal Financial and WABA’s shared vision of making our region an even better place to commute, play and live.

Your WABA Membership Makes Bicycling Better

Biking is a sustainable and affordable way to run errands, commute to work or school, spend time with friends and family, and enjoy fresh air. But while some neighborhoods in the Washington, DC region are characterized by wide sidewalks, visible crosswalks and protected bike lanes that make walking, biking, and scooting safer, others are unwalkable, unbikeable, and unwelcoming to travelers who aren’t in personal vehicles.

Your membership, covered for the first year by Signal Financial, directly supports WABA’s advocacy for infrastructure and policies that will make your bike rides less stressful, and more fun—and make the streets safer, for all our neighbors.
