It’s been a busy week! Here are some highlights:

The League of American Bicyclists named WABA’s own Jeremiah Lowery as Professional Advocate of the Year at the  National Bike Summit this week. It’s a well-deserved honor!

The volunteer cleanup event at the old Gearin’ Up space has been postponed until April 6th because it’s going to rain a lot tomorrow and the roof leaks.

Our updated Crash Tracker tool got a bunch of press last week. In case you missed it, there are a few major improvements:

  • You can now report near misses and dangerous places, which helps identify high-risk locations before they become high-crash locations.
  • You can place a map pin for the location, which generates much more analysis-friendly data.
  • You can send a report about the crash or near miss directly to the relevant elected officials.

Things to do this week:

A Fun Route Idea For the Weekend

Soaking rain overnight means no fun offroad adventures, but it looks like things will clear up tomorrow evening. Have an early dinner, put something tasty in a thermos, and take a sunset tour of the cherry blossoms by the tidal basin. It’s ok to be a tourist in your own city every now and again, and it’s always more fun by bike.
