WABA Advocacy Director wins Advocate of the Year!

WABA’s Advocacy Director, Jeremiah Lowery, was recognized as the National Professional Advocate of the Year by the League of American Bicyclists at the National Bike Summit. We are lucky to have an advocate of Jeremiah’s experience and expertise on staff (since 2019!) and we are glad the League has recognized him in this way.

When asked what accomplishment he’s most proud of in this role, Jeremiah said, “I am most proud of being able to expand our staff capacity by having a dedicated organizer in DC, Maryland and Virginia – each part of the Washington region. Our amazing team is expanding our reach across the region, which will help us achieve our goals.”

With this award, he is joining an esteemed group of previous winners of the League of American Bicyclists’ Advocacy and Education Award winners. Jeremiah’s contributions to making biking better in 2023 really stood out.

Jeremiah has built a team–and built the funding that has enabled the expansion of the team–that has been extremely successful. We look forward to more wins going forward.

We are lucky to have him, and hope you will join us in congratulating Jeremiah.

On a side note, we love to support advocacy – so if you believe in the work of Jeremiah, WABA, and the excellent advocacy team,  donate today!
