Let’s talk bicycling and safe streets for all in Montgomery County

Peter GrayIf you know me, you know that I’m dedicated to making Montgomery County a great place to bike. That means new trails and protected bike lanes and safer streets for all. It means building community, organizing rides, engaging county and state officials, and organizing campaigns. Emphasize the community part. Working together is a must, and it’s also enjoyable!

WABA has been on the front lines supporting Old Georgetown Road bike lanes. We’ve worked together toward a safer River Road and construction of promised sidepaths on US 29, promoting building out the county’s bicycle network in Bethesda, Silver Spring, and Wheaton, and much, much more. We’d like to bring you up to date, hear what’s important to you, and, if you’re so inclined, help you get involved in advocacy.

WABA is hosting an important advocacy event, our 4th Great Montgomery County Bike Summit, taking place Sunday afternoon, October 29 in Wheaton. I hope you can join us. The summit is free and it should be informative and maybe even fun. Click here for the agenda and registeration.

Our focus is on safe streets and creating a bicycle and pedestrian friendly county and state. Visit the registration page for program info, and I hope to see you on the 29th!

All the best,

Peter Gray
