Community Grants

Hello and welcome to the application process for WABA’s Community Grants. These small grants are available to support grassroots work that aligns with WABA’s mission, vision, and values.  That might mean providing food and childcare expenses to make an important organizing meeting more accessible to the community, helmets for a youth cycling club, printing flyers for canvassing, purchasing materials for a direct action, or another expense that brings your community together around safer, more sustainable streets.

How much money is available? In 2022, we have $10,000 available each fiscal quarter. Grants may range from $200 to $1,500.

Who can apply? Nonprofits, community groups, and individuals may apply.

How do I apply? Fill out the brief form below. If you are not already working with a WABA staff member, someone will reach out after you apply. They’ll be your point of contact, and may offer feedback on your application.

Are there other requirements? Yes. If your request is approved you’ll need to file a W-9 and sign a grant agreement. You’ll also need to complete a short report-back after your activity is complete.

How long does this process take? Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. It will usually take a couple of weeks to review your application.
