In the summer 2022, WABA launched a small grants program to fund community initiatives that align with WABA’s mission, vision, and values. We awarded funds to support the work of several organizations around the District.

I urge you to consider applying for the five interim positions, including that of interim Chair, that are open.

The Zoo Loop Trail is currently open during the Zoo’s hours from 7AM to 5PM. The trail must be kept open later for afternoon commutes and evening use.

In this year’s budget the Council can take the step to fund budget items in the Vision Zero Act that only require one-time funding.

Last year, the Montgomery County Council voted unanimously to fund construction of a new trail tunnel to carry the Capital Crescent Trail under Wisconsin Avenue in Bethesda starting in late 2024. But this Spring, County Executive Elrich removed the tunnel from his budget, delaying funding to 2026 or later. Email your council member and urge them to restore funding for the trail tunnel.
