The Maryland General Assembly passed several pro-bike and pro-pedestrian bills during the legislative session that wrapped up on April 10, 2023. We appreciate the legislators (and the advocates) who made this happen!

Data from the county and across the country is clear: police traffic stops perpetuate systemic racial injustice. People of color are more likely to be targeted by police for stops, more likely to be adversely affected by ensuing fines, and more likely to be victims of police violence at traffic stops. This is not an acceptable status quo.

We’ve got you covered with a full calendar of events to celebrate Bike Month. 

You did it — you testified, lobbied, signed petitions, and you rallied asking the D.C. Council to reverse the Mayor’s transportation cutbacks, and because of your efforts we made major progress this FY24 budget season. 

During these past few months, our advocacy team was busy collaborating with partners and volunteers on the ground—racking up some major victories to make our transportation system more sustainable for all road users.
